Enter Christian pop artists 2nd Street North, whose music touches the soul as it simply groves and rocks. 2nd Street North hails from the Tampa Bay Area, Florida and includes Tamar Elaine (vocalist), Cameron J. Cross (Vocalist, instructor, and Keyboardist).

Following radio hits, two songs on a 2002 Dove Award Project and boatloads of critical acclaim ,while working as songwriters and vocalists for other artists and bands, one would think that they would be satisfied with the status quo,"if it isn't broken, don't fix it" mentality.  2nd Street North Debut release, entitled 'I Get Up' ,demonstrates that they are not, but in fact living on the edge of a dream turning reality. 

Not afraid to chart a different course or venture outside of previous boundaries, The Norths have taken to exploring new lyrical and musical landscapes, while staying true to what matters most. "The band's goal in making music has always been to create a place where people can realize that in God they can live their Best life now," says singer/songwriter Cameron J. Cross. “Life is to important to give up on, our successes are waiting for us in our future” ,says Tamarelaine

"So often we think that praise and worship is only meeting with God, but it can be so much more.  While reflecting on Gods presence, spending time with Him while we meet good friends or reaching out to those in need, God recreates our heart mind and soul. His Presence changes our Nature. That's what our music is about. From the opening notes to the last bar,you quickly find yourself challenged, inspired and a little less comfortable with your comfort.

"This past year, we've taken chances and chose to live our best life now. “We've formed an alliance, lol!” says Tamarelaine. Agreed. Although, it's not been easy, we've seen blessings that we consider to be God moving at his best," continues Cameron. "I'm really excited about this relationship because there's change and growth on all levels." Songs Written by 2nd street North and Produced by Cameron J.Cross, the ground breaking musical messages God inspired us to create couldn't have been in more willing hands.

"The 2nd Street North Band is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences I've had as a producer," says Cameron, "her level of talent combined with my vision for connecting with people and being relevant to culture was challenging throughout the whole process. I hope many more lives are impacted by us living out our calling, but mine already has been."

Musically, 2nd street North has infused its traditional pop acoustic soul base with stylish organic gospel reggae' grooves and electric sophistication influenced by the recent Brit Gospel Rock Pop invasion among others. From the classic partnership of Lennon and McCartney to the radio immediacy of Bruno Mars,Taylor Swift, inspiration abounds as shiny guitar hooks and rich vocals confidently drive the tracks.

Acoustic guitars, electric beats, piano, and strings fill out the arrangements, reminding us that although this band has grown, they haven't strayed too far from home. "It was fun exploring new ideas, looking at what musically moves us," says Tamarelaine. "Cameron did an amazing job of guiding that process by joining our brilliant ideas together."
